Linda Steele has been quilting since 1997 and started designing her own quilts over 15 years ago. In 2018 she started making contemporary quilts and she finds that abstract design is an ideal way of exploring emotions. She also enjoys using colour and says that using plain fabric allows the quilting to shine.
She has previously made a pictorial series of work about the beauty of the Coral Reef and the danger that it is currently facing.
As well as designing her own work, Linda is a qualified quilt appraiser, judge and teacher. She is currently the coordinator of the Victorian Quilters state quilt show and has run the Waverley Art Quilters group for many years.
