Art Movements

The arrival of entries for the Ozquilt Network virtual exhibition was like opening a box of treasures. Each unique art quilt is an expression of individuality but with an identifiable link to the theme of ART MOVEMENTS.

The influence of MODERNISM, the art styles of the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s and POST MODERNISM, the art of mid to late 1900’s, were evident in the art quilts. Within those overlapping art movements, many varied styles have been used for inspiration. For the purposes of this virtual exhibition, the entries have been presented in two generic categories, abstract expressionism and figurative expressionism.
