Wrack Dance: low tide Lake Eraring (day) (40x40cm) by Judy Hooworth.
Judy’s work is influenced and inspired by Dora Creek and the surrounding Lake Macquarie area near her home. She takes photographs on her walks, documenting her impressions of colours, patterns and moods in the landscape created by changes in the weather day by day. She is passionate about the preservation of the creek and its bush environs. Her work encompasses drawing, mono printing, painting, discharge and wax resist techniques and is extensively stitched and quilted.
Judy has maintained a studio practice for over thirty-five years, and has been involved in quilt textiles as a teacher, lecturer, exhibition organiser and author. She has exhibited and been published widely; her work is held in collections here and overseas.
