Today’s preview of the Australia Wide Six exhibition is Red Flower by Joy Harvey of Adelaide. In the early stages of a Fine Arts Degree in the UK, a module on Textiles completely changed the direction of Joy’s art practice. After learning a number of textile techniques, she immediately connected with contemporary reverse applique as being both expressive & challenging, whilst also making her heart sing! Since then she has developed differing styles of art work, whilst still using contemporary reverse applique as her core means of expression.
