AW6 Preview: Joy Harvey

Today’s preview of the Australia Wide Six exhibition is Red Flower by Joy Harvey of Adelaide. In the early stages of a Fine Arts Degree in the UK, a module on Textiles completely changed the direction of Joy’s art practice. After learning a number of textile techniques, she immediately connected with contemporary reverse applique as being both expressive & challenging, whilst also making her heart sing!  Since then she has developed differing styles of art work, whilst still using contemporary reverse applique as her core means of expression.

The official opening of Australia Wide Six is on Saturday 1 September 2018 in conjunction with the Ozquilt Network annual general meeting and forum The Art of Curating presented by Brenda Gael Smith (10am-3pm). Bookings essential – BOOK ONLINE by 20 AUGUST
