Victoria Mansfield’s love of modern quilting, with its clean geometric lines and minimalist style is reflected in her experimentation with textile art. She enjoys distilling very complex concepts or objects down to their core essence and playing with scale, colour and texture. Victoria invites her audience to challenge their preconceived notions of what a quilt or art piece should be and engages them at a visceral level.
Brainwaves represents how ideas start in Victoria’shead, moving from small and dark to larger and lighter and becoming entwined as they grow and develop. Victoria’s favourite techniques are playing with colour gradation, tiny improv piecing, extreme trapunto and detailed quilting. Follow Victoria on Instagram at: @totallyquilted
