In today’s preview of Art Quilt Australia 2023, we feature Water Ribbons made by Linden Lancaster of Picola, Victoria.
The unique flowerheads of Triglochin procera (water ribbon) evoke visions of a spear carrying Aboriginal man travelling in the iconic Barmah Forest. Its long strappy and aptly named leaves can be imagined woven by the women beside the shallow streams or waterholes, where the plant thrives.
