Maker, author, teacher, Dianne Finnegan was named one of the 88 leaders of the quilt world by Japanese publisher Nihon Vogue. Her work is included in Thames and Hudson’s Textiles, the Art of Mankind. She was named International Quilting Teacher and has been awarded the Jewel Pearce Patterson Quilting Teacher Scholarship. She has published numerous books and articles.
Her work is included in the MAAS (Powerhouse Museum), Royal North Shore Hospital and in private collections in Australia, USA, Canada. Britain and China. Her works have been exhibited by invitation internationally.
The rough geometry of nature and aboriginal art influence her designs. Her fieldwork as geomorphologist informs series of quilts; her collection of fabrics from around the world inspire some; historic Australian quilts, events and ideas also provide impetus for works.

Statement: One of the Dua Negri series. Textile design from Bula-Bula Art Centre, Raminginging. The backing cotton is from the textile factory Faso Fani in Burkina Faso before it was abruptly shut down by an incoming president.
