Statement: Removal of trees over vast areas combined with agricultural irrigation has resulted in rising water tables bringing salt to the surface and into rivers. Packaging some of this salt for our tables hardly makes up for damaged eco systems struggling to adapt to our enormous thirst for export dollars.
