Quilt Title: Win or Lose

Statement: Ruined vehicles litter the desert around Coober Pedy, signs of failure in an unforgiving environment. At opal mines some are gutted to power equipment, but others serve as land-marks, road-signs meeting places or as warnings. Winners and losers all abandon cars. Each tells a tale that is part of a vernacular history, discarded but not unloved.
