Ozquilt Network Incorporated is a national organisation for art quilters and anyone interested in art quilts. Our membership includes many quilters who have achieved national and international acclaim, as well as many promising emerging artists.
In 1991 twenty one people with an interest in contemporary art quiltmaking attended a workshop in Sydney. Everyone enjoyed the discussions during the workshop and wanted them to continue. But how, when participants lived as far apart as Perth and Sydney, on different sides of our huge continent?
One participant, Barbara Macey volunteered to co-ordinate correspondence into a newsletter. The first newsletter went out to twenty people in September 1991. The rest is history!
Membership has grown steadily since then.
Often people voiced the opinion that an organisation serving the specialised needs of art quilters was needed. This happened on 30 November 1998, when Ozquilt Network Inc became an incorporated association with Barbara as inaugural President, and a Management committee of eight. For international purchases, the GST is only applicable to those items labelled "includes 10% GST" and where a quilt is purchased and not delivered within 60 days of the date of purchase.
